Cue The Music...

So, I reached 50 K tonight.  Oh, and I'm done, too.  That is all.

Oh wow! And you're done . . . that's an even better feeling. I figure I have about 30K left to write if I want to actually write the words "The End" and mean it.
Nov. 18th, 2008 04:46 am (UTC)
Yeah...this one has jerked me around. It tried to be a 35K or so story, then a character jumped up and changed things, and I could go down that path some more later, but I think it's done-at least for now. I'm going to let it lie for a month or so and come back to it.

I have other things to write, dang it! And lots of saved up posts to post! *grin*

Whoo hoo!! Look at you!
Writtin' till your face is blue!
(How does she do it?
Wish I knew!)
Queen of NaNoWriMo, you!

Nov. 18th, 2008 04:57 am (UTC)
Thanks for the applesauce! But there were many who finished before me-freaks! ; ) My face is ok, but my right arm is acting up again...but not badly. I'll live.

I honestly think the story is coherent, too.

I suspect it will be pared down to a short story in the editing process, but...anyway...we'll see.

Onward to my fics and the million posts I didn't make in the past week or so! (On Wednesday, that is...when I'm off work.)

Boing! Boing! Boing!!

(Happy bounces)
Nov. 18th, 2008 04:59 am (UTC)
*hands beth an anti-bounce pill*

Be careful, there's Wonderflonium around here, you know!

(And if you don't know about that, get thee here yesterday:

No, really...thanks!

In Which Beth Is Unbounced
On second thought, forget the pill. I'll dive down the rabbit hole all by myself, thank you.

And although I may not be up to your lofty heights of aspiration and accomplishment, I did finish a chapter tonight, and that's enough to make me bouncy all over again. *G*

Re: In Which Beth Is Unbounced
You know I was teasing, right? I was just watching Dr. Horrible when I got your message, and I couldn't help myself.

As for chapters, GO YOU! Awesome. I would like to finish my big FF one day...

But anyway, good job!

Re: In Which Beth Is Unbounced
WHAT?!? You were teasing?!?!

I am shocked, shocked that you would ever do such a thing!

Actually, I haven't been able to look at the Dr. Horrible thingummy yet -- I was stuck at home on my dial-up last night when we were throwing your wrap party. It's on my hit list for this evening. But as a longtime aficionado of Tom Lehrer, Stan Freberg, Allan Sherman, and Weird Al Yankovic, I'm expecting to enjoy.

Gee, now that you've finished NaNo, maybe you'll actually read my longer fics! No, you'll probably just start writing something else . . .

Re: In Which Beth Is Unbounced
I know, right? Shocker. [/sarcasm]

You will like Dr. Horrible. I guarantee it. There's singing, dancing, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, super heroes, super villians, young love...what's not to love?

And while I do have more writing to do, I expect I just might take a bit of a break. We'll see.

And as for a party, that's a great idea!!!

YAY! *throws confetti*
Nov. 19th, 2008 12:20 am (UTC)
Ooo! CONFETTI! *catches some, remembers it's not for eating, tossed it again, and has some pie*
Nov. 19th, 2008 02:55 am (UTC)
pie is good. I like pie :D
Nov. 19th, 2008 03:04 am (UTC)
Well, you're welcome to have some, but be sure I get a piece to take home!
Nov. 21st, 2008 01:10 am (UTC)
lol, I'm sure that there'd be plenty left for you.
Nov. 21st, 2008 02:42 am (UTC)
Damn skippy! I'm taking the first one, though, just to be sure! *grin*
Nov. 18th, 2008 09:11 pm (UTC)
Congratulations! I am impressed. Very impressed.

I watched disc 1 of Season 1 of Stargate and am liking it so far!
Nov. 19th, 2008 12:31 am (UTC)
Thank you! 'Twasn't nothing. *g*

As for Stargate, if you made it past Emancipation, you're doing fine. Of course, your next disc has a challenge, too, but it has a few gems, as well. Have fun!

*breaks into a certain old Queen song*
Nov. 19th, 2008 12:16 pm (UTC)
I am humbled by your greatness. *sniffles*

I hit the 25K mark officially yesterday.
I'm gettin' a little worried.
This thing is starting to hate me, I think.

*sighs contentedly*
Although it has occurred to me that perhaps I should pull out my Star Wars CD too.... *snuggles the LukeMusic* Ohgod that is still my most favorite piece of any music anywhere!
Nov. 19th, 2008 04:42 pm (UTC)
Now, now...get up. No groveling allowed. Besides, you can't grovel and write at the same time. At least not efficiently.

So onward, friend, onward.

Do not despair. I do not have four manlings to look after-you should be elated with 25K. That said, it is not too late-you can do it!

Use that french horn line and get to work! Unplug the internetz if you have to! (I did.) I personally don't write with music on-I prefer silence-but whatever works, man! Go for it.

And yes, Binary Sunset is one of the greatest songs ever written.

The end.
Nov. 20th, 2008 12:06 am (UTC)
I got back up, dusted myself off, and managed to put in about 2500+ words 'fore my hubby demanded the bedroom this morning. (Did I mention that my writing time is ALSO limited by the fact that my computer is in my bedroom....where my DH sleeps all day due to 3rd-shift-itis? Yeah. It's a wonder I ever get anything done at my desk.) *eyeroll*

I never write with anything on. I've tried, but I find that it's very hard to hear the voice in my head over the external noise--and let's face it, HE's running this show. Not me. LOL 'Sides, if I ask him what he prefers, I get some smart ass answer usually involving something suggestive accompanied by a mental striptease. EEK! TMI, sorry. *contemplates strangling the Muse...will wait till next week*

How can that small snippet of music evoke EVERY SINGLE EMOTION EVER in a mere two minute span? John Williams, you are the Jedi Master. *bows*
Nov. 20th, 2008 03:09 am (UTC)
Good for you! That's great! I can't imagine having the puter in the bedroom. Yikes! Mine is across the hall, and that is enough to put hubby in a grumpy mood just from keystrokes! Ugh.

And I completely understand where you're coming from on the quiet while writing thing. To each their own, but for me, writing is solitary and silent. I cannot define my muse, as you can, and I don't know that I actually hear anything (except that one time-you shut up, lemonpie!), but I do completely dive into the story, so to speak, and it's all I experience. Anything else distracts me. Oh, and I read out loud a lot, too. Esp dialogue. That's how I know if it sounds right.

But back to your muse...not TMI at all...in fact, that's lovely!

Thanks for the image...but don't strangle. That's not nice, you know...cough, cough...on that note, good night!

And John Williams is a god...if you don't listen too closely to Hook and Home Alone, that is...but hey, it's ok to reuse themes! Where would fiction (or music) be without that? *grinning like the certified John Williams fangirl that I am*
Nov. 22nd, 2008 04:39 pm (UTC)
All RIGHT! Congratulations!
Nov. 22nd, 2008 10:30 pm (UTC)
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
