I had a couple of X Files marathons this week. Good times.

I discovered the entire series is on Netflix Instant.

WHEE!

But so far, I've only watched Pusher. More to come, though!

I stumbled upon a FREAKIN crazy deal years ago for the entire series on dvd. I still can't believe I have it!

Oh, I have them all on DVD, but frankly I don't watch DVDs anymore.

I pretty much only watch streaming video/online stuff. It's just too hard for me to access a television (I have a TV, but I also have a husband, and like most women in my situation, it's easier to watch programs another way than to pry the remote control out of my husband's hands - and it's certainly less costly - it's not worth the bitching and moaning, so I just let it go) and frankly it's a pain to be chained to one machine to watch my shows!

I can access my Netflix account from any computer in the world (ok, the US, at any rate) and watch streaming, so...yeah. DVDs are pretty much obsolete for me. When you factor in the there is only one DVD player in the house and six Netflix-capable devices, it's a no-brainer. The television has been for a while, and DVDs were not too far behind. Both still have their place, but it's smaller and smaller every day. I find the convenience of my laptop a far better option than one big box that makes me stay in one place to watch a show.

That's just silly.

*laughs* Don't you have a DVD player in your laptop?

Actually, no. I only have a netbook. However, I do have one in GeeBee (my desktop/most used computer). But I'd have to go get the DVD, find the right DVD, put it in, wait for it to load, go through the menu to watch my show. With Netflix or other streaming, I just click on it once and voila.

So, yeah. I pretty much only watch streaming.

A lot of that, though, is because I do a million things at once when I watch shows. I can't just sit and watch TV. I watch while I'm on Twitter, answering email, playing online, etc, etc, etc.

It's like saying goes: a television is just a broken computer. It only does one thing. And that's just silly.
