Extended Universe

Everyone knows that when it comes to Star Trek and Star Wars, there is a canon scale. Movies and shows are canon, books are not, etc. But most everyone also knows that some books are so wonderful that they should be (and often are) counted as canon, or at least mostly canon, blah, blah, blah. Some are even sanctioned by the powers that be. Well, for anyone out there who watched/is watching Enterprise, I've got a recommendation for you. A strong one. A "everyone should read this book immediately upon completion of the series" one, in fact.

It's been a while since I've read a Trek novel, and it turns out that I enjoy them as much now as I did in my youth. However, it's more than that that makes this particular book wonderful. It's the attention to detail. It's the flawless interweaving of multiple series (particularly Deep Space Nine and Enterprise) that makes the Trekkie squee without overpowering the casual fan. And the plausibility? Oh, boy. Pitch perfect. I will say no more, as it would be too easy to spoil those who have not watched the series or, like lemonpiefirefly  and lothithil , are just now watching it, since it deals with the final episode, but I will give The Good That Men Do, by Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin, a resounding HELL YEAH and recommend it to everyone.

KTHXCANONBAI!
